From forging new partnerships to opening a new training centre, it’s safe to say that 2023 has been a busy year at Savage Lighting. Here, we share a round-up of what the team has been up to this year.
1- Partnering with Crestron Electronics
We were thrilled to kick off 2023 with the exciting news that we were appointed as Crestron Electronics’ first-ever LED lighting integration partner.
Described by Crestron as ‘one of the most prestigious marine lighting firms in the world’, the partnership will see Savage Lighting creating and manufacturing custom lighting solutions, bringing together the power of the Crestron Home OS tunable lighting solutions and their DMX-C LED lighting driver to the Savage Marine line of fixtures.
All the lighting fixtures created under the Crestron partnership have and will be designed, engineered and manufactured at our Leicestershire facility.
Julie Clark, MD at Savage Lighting, said: “Crestron products are at the forefront of technology; they are user-friendly, and beautifully designed, so the partnership fits perfectly in our portfolio of high-end lighting solutions. For Savage Lighting to be appointed an Integration Partner by one of the world’s leaders in technological innovation is hugely significant for the business.”
2 – Launching a brand-new website
We were delighted to unveil our brand-new website this year. Designed to be user-friendly, fully optimised and responsive, the new site captures the unique Savage Lighting branding while also showcasing our extensive product range and the bespoke services we offer to our clients.
The site also features the latest news and updates and introduces clients to our growing team. A big thank you to Hive of Design for building us a website that we love.
3 – Training centre
In April, the Crestron training facility and customer support centre officially opened. Located at Crestron’s offices in Weybridge, Surrey, the demo facility provides a versatile space for partners, specifiers, and end users to come and view a whole host of cutting-edge products on offer, including Savage Lighting’s own DMX-C lighting range.
All our clients are very welcome to visit the demo facility and see our bespoke products in action.
4 – Tom and Nigel’s appointments
Ahead of a busy events season, Savage Lighting welcomed two stalwarts of the superyacht industry to our growing team: Nigel Sherlock and Tom Campion.
Having banked well over two decades’ experience within the superyacht industry between them, Tom Campion took on the position of Head of Marine Projects, overseeing the burgeoning marine element of the lighting business, while Nigel Sherlock has the role of Business Development Manager, harnessing his impressive wealth of experience and contacts to generate new business for Savage Lighting. Find out more about their appointments here.
5 – Julie featured in Women in Yachting feature for Yachting Pages
Julie was interviewed by Yachting Pages earlier this year as part of its Women in Yachting feature. In the interview, publications editor Nathan Bees chatted with Julie about how she is lighting the way for those who may doubt that they are capable of carving out their dream career. Read the full interview here.
6 – Events, events and more events!
The Savage team has been out and about at many of the leading industry events this year, including the Monaco Yacht Show, METS, Cruise Ship Interiors, and much more.
We were delighted to sponsor a number of pop-up events this year across the globe, from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, and to meet up with familiar and new faces. We were so pleased with the amount of crew and other industry professionals that attended each ever, and it was the perfect opportunity to catch up.
2024 promises to be another year packed full of events and networking opportunities to mark on the calendar. Keep an eye on our social channels for full details!
7 – Running a successful workshop: See the light with Crestron and Savage Lighting
We joined our friends at Crestron in co-hosting a sell-out workshop at the Crestron Training Offices for lighting designers and integrators. Covering Crestron Home and Lighting Control, Savage Lighting integration with Crestron Home, the NOW and the FUTURE of smart lighting, including circadian and fully tunable light fixtures, plus plenty of demos and a sneak peek of Crestron Home OS4, the workshop was a roaring success with attendees, and we look forward to holding more in the future.
8 – Sharing our expertise
From looking at the benefits of circadian lighting systems, to exploring how you can use lighting to enhance unique interiors, the lighting experts shared their expertise and advice in a number of blogs this year. Check them out on our website here.
The future is looking bright
We’d like to wish a Merry Christmas to all who celebrate from the whole team here at Savage Lighting. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024 for another action-packed year!
